The northern cost of biggest Hungarian lake Balaton provides gorgeous experience in June: the lavender fields. You also can find public fields where you can collect lavender and prepare nice gifts.
I’m really lucky to have a friend with stunning lavender field, so I collect the purple flowers every June and prepare hand made maces against moth. I just hang them in the wardrobe next to my coats. The lavender “harvest” brings friends together and traditional Hungarian dishes are cooked in kettle like goulash soup, stew, letscho or chicken paprikash.
